High-quality recordings of sophisticated choral music are at the heart of Rondeau Production’s portfolio. Yet smaller and larger gemstones that enrich the label’s profile can also be found left and right of the purely vocal repertoire. In order to nurture these repertoires with the same degree of care, Rondeau Production and the producers Nick and Clemens Prokop entered into a fruitful relationship in 2012. Since then, the label klanglogo has become a valuable, cherished feature among Rondeau Production’s musical offerings.
The label’s catalogue encompasses Baroque treasures (for example with the Hofkapelle Schloss Seehaus, the Leipzig CembaloDuo, or the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt), extravagant jazz from Iceland with the Ensemble Úngút, as well as splendid recordings with the Vienna Vocal Consort, the Quartetto di Cremona, and many more.
The name klanglogo is indicative of the label’s programme: as with Rondeau Production’s choral recordings, the products fulfil highest standards regarding their concepts, performance, musicality, and technical equipment. The label’s sound is, indeed, the crucial element which seeks to impress itself on the listeners’ minds – like a striking, sounding logo: a ‘klanglogo’.
The idea for this label, which has found a strong partner concerning production and distribution in Rondeau Production, was developed by the music producers and scenographers Nick and Clemens Prokop. Both stand in close contact with musicians, composers, and performers worldwide, greatly benefitting the work of klanglogo: ‘the performers’ intensive engagement with their music inspires us, for a CD is more than merely an infinitely reproducible recording’, the Prokop-brothers explain klanglogo’s background: ‘sound is our hallmark; yet authenticity and aesthetics are just as important and are key features of klanglogo – and that includes matters of presentation’.
Nick and Clemens Prokop have consequently found an ideal partner in Rondeau Production: ‘we have the same aims’, the klanglogo-founders confirm. ‘A repertoire that insists on its independence and avoids doublings with recordings already available on the market; productions of the highest technical standard; and a careful design of the final product – these features will continue to be at the heart of our enterprise’.
