A Musical Journey through Time
Künstler: Elbeblech, Neuer Knabenchor Hamburg, Ulrich Kaiser
Komponisten: Heinrich Schütz

Sixteenth-century favourites, virtuosic dance pieces from the Renaissance and the Baroque are represented in this fast forward of music history, as are African sounds and pop hits from the 1970s. Works by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Pierre Alamire, William Byrd, Dick Koomans, Stevie Wonder, and others are performed with bursting sound colours and joie de vivre. Vaughan Williams’ Suite for pipes holds a special meaning for the ensemble—it is the ensemble’s founding piece and lends its title to the formation’s name. Pipelife was founded in 1999, and has since then won numerous prizes and stipends at national and international competitions. For example, the production of the present CD as well as the purchase of the eight consort recorders that can be heard here were made possible for the five ladies by the generous support of the Kulturfonds Baden e. V.
