Saudade – |Choral Music from Brazil

Saudade – |Choral Music from Brazil
Kammerchor Apollini et Musis
Künstler: Martin Petzold, Stephan-König-Trio
Komponisten: Johann Sebastian Bach

With its current recording the chamber choir Apollini et Musis brings some extraordinary South-American flair to our homely hearths. Their recent production, titled ‘saudade”, features Brazilian music from three centuries: in addition to works by the most famous of all Brazilian composers, Heitor Villa-Lobos, the chamber choir of the Staatsoper unter den Linden performs a motet by José Mauricio Nunes Garcia as well as songs by the contemporary artists Osvaldo Lacerda and Ronaldo Miranda. Under the direction of Vinzenz Weissenburger, the choir embarks on its musical journey to this distant continent with M. Camargo Guarnieri’s Missa Diligite; the ensemble is accompanied on its journey by organist Jörg Strodthoff.
