Trumpet concertos in a new guise
Künstler: Äneas Humm, Renate Rohlfing
Komponisten: Fanny Hensel

Trumpet concertos accompanied by an organ instead of an orchestra – this idea came to Helmut Fuchs, principal trumpet of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Dresden Frauenkirche cantor Matthias Grünert some time ago. For their project, the two artists chose works from the 18th century, written by composers who are rather unknown today – unjustly, one might think, when listening to this recording. It is characterised by great virtuosity as well as a refreshing liveliness and joy of playing, reminiscent of the character of a jam session. A successful new arrangement of rarely performed works.
