Ensemble amarcord

The ensemble was founded by former members of the Thomanerchor Leipzig in 1992 and is now one of the leading international vocal groups. Amarcord consists of Wolfram Lattke (Tenor), Martin Lattke (Tenor), Frank Ozimek (Baritone), Daniel Knauft (Bass) and Holger Krause (Bass). A breathtakingly homogenous, distinctive sound, impeccable knowledge of musical styles and a good amount of charm and wit are the ensemble’s characteristic features. Amarcord has been successful at many international competitions: In 2002, the ensemble won the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and as the first vocal ensemble ever the singers were awarded the first prize at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2004. Numerous recordings impressively illustrate the ensemble’s different facets. Many of these recordings were awarded the renowned Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award. The singers have undertaken numerous concert tours throughout Europe and North America. In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut the ensemble gave guest performances in Russia, Jordan, the Lebanon, Australia and South-East Asia.
The ensemble are also the artistic directors of the vocal music festival A Cappella held at Leipzig. For further information, up-to-date concert schedules and more CD publications visit www.amarcord.de.
