Helmut Duffe

Helmut Duffe, born in 1948, was himself a singer with the Windsbacher Knabenchor for ten years (under Hans Thamm). During this time he was already composing small motets, which were recorded and often performed by the Windsbacher Knabenchor. Owing to his extraordinary musical talent, Duffe was to be invited back to Windsbach by Hans Thamm to be his assistant, following the completion of his music studies at the Kirchenmusikschule in Bayreuth.
Today Helmut Duffe is Area Director of Music for the Windsbach Deanery. He retains close links with the Windsbacher Knabenchor, not least through his various compositions which still form part of its repertoire. Duffe also teaches music, aural technique, harmony and counterpoint, piano, and organ in the Evangelisch-Lutherisches Studienheim (Evangelical Lutheran Residential College), the Windsbacher Knabenchor's boarding school.
