Ingeborg Danz

Ingeborg Danz
Alto Ingeborg Danz's main preference is without doubt concert performance and lieder recitals: she has particularly close links with both the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart and Helmuth Rilling, and with the Collegium Vocale Gent and Philippe Herreweghe.
When it comes to performance, Ingeborg Danz has not specialised in a particular period. Her repertoire also includes Late Romantic works such as Mahler's symphonies, Berlioz' Nuits d'été, Schumann's Faust-Szenen (Faust Scenes), and the masses of Bruckner and Beethoven. It would not be exaggerating to call her one of the leading alto soloists for Bach interpretation. Following a performance of his Mass in B Minor with the Munich Philharmonic, a Munich critic wrote the following: „Ingeborg Danz, currently the leading concert alto – anyone who was moved by her Agnus Dei has been spoilt for all future B Minor masses!“
Her work with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Herbert Blomstedt, Claudio Abbado, Christopher Hogwood, Karl-Friedrich Beringer, Philippe Herreweghe and Helmuth Rilling has taken her to La Scala in Milan, the Salzburg Festival, and the great orchestras of the world. She is frequently to be found performing with Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam, the Vienna and Munich Philharmonics, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Leipzig's Gewandhaus Orchestra.
