Katharina Baumgarten

Katharina Baumgarten completed her vocal studies at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Klesie Kelly-Moog. In 2012 she made her debut at the Landestheater Detmold, singing roles including Gretel, Musetta, Pamina, Lauretta, Adina and Franziska Cagliari. She has also sung Adina in Lübeck, Maria (West Side Story) and Hodel in Aachen, Despina in Bern and Franziska Cagliari at the Theater Lüneburg. In 2019 she made her first appearance as Odette in Kálmán’s Die Bajadere at the Festspiele im Schlossgarten festival at the Theater Neustrelitz. As a sought-after lied and concert singer, she has appeared in Detmold, Cologne, Neubrandenburg, Bremerhaven, Herford and many other cities. She made her Chemnitz Opera debut in 2018 as Sophie Scholl in Weiße Rose. Since the 2019/20 season she has been a guest in residence and has appeared as Papagena, Taumännchen, in several roles in Suppé’s operetta Der Teufel auf Erden, as Rosine in Un mari à la porte and in the musical I Do! I do!.
