Dagmar Schellenberger
Dagmar Schellenberger began her career at the Komische Oper Berlin. Even while still studying, she was already making guest appearances at various theatres and opera houses. In 1985 she performed Ännchen in Der Freischütz at the opening production of the Semperoper Dresden. She performed Rosalinde for over 20 years in Berlin, Paris, Santiago de Chile, Tokyo and Spain. Her broad repertoire has taken to engagements in Germany, Argentina, the USA, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Israel and Japan. In 2004 she made her debut at La Scala in Milan as Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites and, in 2005, appeared as Lisa in The Queen of Spades. She sang the Marschallin in Rosenkavalier all over the world, as well as Strauss’ Madeleine in Capriccio and Arabella. Concerts in Austria and Germany round off her activities. From 2012 to 2017, Schellenberger took over artistic direction of the Seefestspiele Mörbisch and, in 2013, after a reconstruction of the festival grounds, launched her very successful career as artistic director with a production of Der Bettelstudent.
