Florian Sievers

Florian Sievers was born in Hamburg and gained his first singing experience with the Chorknaben Uetersen boys’ choir. He completed his vocal studies with Berthold Schmid at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. Following this, in 2018/19, he sang the Evangelist in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion under Jordi Savall, making his professional debut at the Philharmonie de Paris. Sievers has worked with conductor Hans-Christoph Rademann at the Stuttgart Bachwoche, and the Lautten Compagney at the Leipzig Bach Festival. Other projects have included Mozart’s Requiem in Spain, Italy and Slovenia, songs with Ragna Schirmer at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in the Leipzig Gewandhaus. He has also worked with the Thomanerchor Leipzig, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Symphoniker Hamburg, the Leipziger Barockorchester and the Concerto Köln. Sievers has been artist in residence at the Chemnitz Opera since the 2019/20 season.
