The Mainz Cathedral Orchestra comprises a core membership of professional instrumentalists from the Rhine-Main area, including, among others, musicians from the Philharmonic State Orchestra Mainz, with the line-up being adapted to that required for each project. This flexibility enables the orchestra to meet all instrumentation requirements from chamber music to symphonic and choral symphonic strength, and stylistically from the Renaissance to modern times.
