Mieneke van derVelden studiedviola da gambawith Wieland Kuijkenat the RoyalConservatoire inThe Hague, andwas awarded thesoloist diplomain 1988. One ofnorthern Europe’sleading players,she has been invitedto play at various festivals in the Netherlands and acrossEurope. She currently teaches viola da gamba at the AmsterdamSweelinck Conservatoire and at the Royal Conservatoirein The Hague, where she has instituted a consort-tradition,together with the recorder-, lute- and singing-departments.
