Judit Polgar
Judit Polgar, born in Budapest, studied with Hadassa Schwimmer and Homero Francesch at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. After receiving her concert diploma, she completed further training in accompaniment in Zurich as well as at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Irwin Gage and Hartmut Höll. In 2009, she received her master’s degree with distinction in song accompaniment. Additionally, she earned a master‘s degree in cultural studies from the University of Lucerne.
Judit Polgar is a much sought-after accompanist and performs at several international festivals and opera houses. She is active as an accompanist for various opera productions and works additionally as a teacher for vocal accompaniment at the Kalaidos Musikhochschule.
As a vocal accompanist, Judit Polgar has participated in numerous prestigious international competitions such as the ARD-Musikwettbewerb in Munich, the art song competition of the Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie in Stuttgart, the competition Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne in Graz. In 2009, she received the Nico-Kaufmann-Preis, which was awarded for song accompanists. In 2010, she was awarded the prize for piano accompaniment at the Joseph Suder Liedwettbewerb in Nuremberg.
Her CD recordings have been released by Oehms Classics, VDEGallo Records and Meta Records.
