Martin Häßler
Martin Häßler is a student ofRudolfPiernay and Janice Chapmanof the renowned opera programat the Guildhall School ofMusic and Drama. He won secondprize at the Thomas Quasthoff’sDas Lied – International SongCompetition 2011 and wasawarded Best Singer at the GeraldMoore Competition London.
He has sung concerts and recitalsat the Gewandhaus Leipzig,the Philharmonie Berlin, theTonhalle Zürich, the DeutscheOper Berlin,at the KlavierfestivalRuhr in Schloss Herten withGrahamJohnson, the Oxford Lieder Festival,the BarbicanCentre London,the Fondation Singer-Polignac Paris and atthe Wiener Musikverein. In June 2013, he gave his first recitalat Wigmore Hall in London. On the opera stage, Häßlerhas appeared in Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia inRheinsberg, as Siegried in Robert Schumann’sGenovevaat theTonhalle Düsseldorf, as Hans Werner Henze’s Ein Landarzt inBarbican Centre London, in Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’sEugeneOnegin at the Garsington Opera and Lliam Paterson’s 8th Doorat the Scottish Opera.
