Ron-Dirk Entleutner
Deeply rooted in the music tradition of the city of his birth, Ron- Dirk Entleutner, once a chorister in the choir of St Thomas’s Church, ranks as one of the most interesting conductor personalities in Leipzig. Already during his studies at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig, he founded the Ensemble “amici musicae”, Chor & Orchester, Leipzig, with which he continues to perform successfully at home and abroad.
His musical work revolves around two main themes: the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and seldom-performed choral symphonic works. Since 2000, he has conducted the Jugendsinfonieorchester (Youth Symphony Orchestra) Leipzig, with great success winning several national awards. Entleutner places special emphasis on the training and support of young musicians. In 2007, he was appointed University Music Director in Koblenz . In the summer of 2015, he became conductor of the Landesjugendchor Sachsen.
