Matthias Stoffels

Matthias Stoffels studied music and German as well as choral conducting with Jörg-Peter Weigle at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin and took numerous international master classes with artists such as Eric Ericson, Simon Halsey, Michael Gläser, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Stefan Parkman. As part of the master classes he has conducted the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Rundfunkchor Berlin in rehearsals and concerts. He has led choir rehearsals of the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He headed the Junges Orchester der Freien Universität Berlin and is the artistic director of the award-winning chamber choir Ensemberlino Vocale. Matthias Stoffels has been teaching conducting and historical performance practice at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” since 2008. Since 2016, he is full professor of music and musicology and artistic director of the choir and symphony orchestra of the Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften in Munich.
