Magnus Andersson
The lutenist Magnus Andersson was born in the Swedish town of Arboga and studied with Sven Aberg at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and with Professor Nigel North in Bloomington (USA). Magnus Andersson has performed around the world as a chamber musician and basso continuo specialist with various baroque ensembles such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Lautten Compagney Berlin, the Batzdorfer Hofkapelle and the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, as well as a soloist with a focus on repertoire from the 16th up to the 18th century. He won the Jörgen Rörby Competition as well as the EAR-ly Nordic Early Music Competition. He has also received several grants from the Swedish “Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien” (Royal Swedish Academy of Music) for his work with the Renaissance lute.
