Daniel Beckmann

At the age of 29 Daniel Beckmann was nominated as the first cathedral organist of Mainz (Germany) by Cardinal Karl Lehmann in 2010. Responsible for the organ music in the episcopal cathedral, he initiated the monthly organ matinees and the Internationaler Orgelsommer, an international organ festival. An active concert activity has led him to well known organs and music festivals in Germany and abroad. Numerous TV, CD and broadcasting company productions complete his musical activities. During his high school period Daniel Beckmann parallelly studied at the University of Music in Detmold (Germany). Later he passed all exams there with special distinctions in organ interpretation and improvisation. Numerous master courses complete this education. Between 2006 and 2010 he was employed in Paderborn as a regional church musician and taught organ interpretation at the local university as well. Since 2014, he teaches organ at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz.
