Sebastian Heindl

Sebastian Heindl
Sebastian Heindl, born in 1997, recieved his fundamental musical education from the age of five as a piano student at the Leipzig music school "Johann Sebastian Bach" and from the age of ten as a singer in the St Thomas’s Boys Choir. Since 2009 he took organ lessons, since 2010 he was taught by University Organist Daniel Beilschmidt. As an organist himself he performed in church services and concerts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony and Thuringia with a repertoire stretching from Baroque to the Modern era. Several benefit concerts Sebastian gave for the preservation of a baroque organ in Thuringia. In office of the praefectus organus he also played as organ accompanist of his choir, for example at the premiere and CD recording of the so-called organ version of St Thomas Easter music of Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller. In 2013 Sebastian contributed as an organ soloist to the BBC TV documentary "Bach: A Passionate Life" with Sir John Eliot Gardiner. He was a prize winner of several junior organ competitions, including the German federal competitions of Young Musicians in 2012 and 2015.
