Hanno Müller-Brachmann

Educated as a member of the Knabenkantorei Basel, bass-baritone Hanno Müller-Brachmann performs Lied, concert, and operatic repertoires with many of today’s most inspiring musical personalities, including Sir Simon Rattle, Herbert Blomstedt, Claudio Abbado, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Riccardo Chailly, and Enoch zu Guttenberg. Aged twenty-seven, he was appointed as ensemble member at the Staatsoper Berlin by Daniel Barenboim, under whose direction he appeared in the great Mozart operas, but also as Orest (Elektra), Amfortas (Parsifal), and Wotan (Rheingold). Furthermore, he worked with Gustavo Dudamel, Sebastian Weigle, and Philippe Jordan in Berlin. This engagement was followed by guest appearances at San Francisco, Madrid, Seville, Modena, and at the state operas in Vienna, Munich, and Hamburg. Today, Müller-Brachmann can look back on musical ventures with orchestras such as the Berliner and Wiener Philharmoniker, the Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras, the New York and London Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig.
