Michael Ebert

Michael Ebert was born in Coburg in 1982. Between 2002 and 2008, he studied music education and music theory at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar (HfM). During this time, he won the Grotrian-Steinweg Bundeswettbewerb for classroom piano-playing. From 2008 to 2012, he held an appointment for teaching classroom piano-playing, while at the same time studying church music. He is cur- rently taking his practical training for teaching in grammar schools. Ebert is active in many domains, as a pianist and organ- ist. While still a student, he provided piano improvisations for silent films at the Mon Ami cinema Weimar, and was invited to the Teatro San Materno in Ascona (Switzerland) to accompany the silent film “Faust” by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. He can also be heard performing on other instru- ments in a range of settings and genres, from classical mu- sic, dinner and salon music, to jazz-combos and rock bands.
