Irm Hermann

Irm Hermann’s career as an actor began with her encounter of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, who persuaded her to perform in his first short film ‘Der Stadtstreicher’ in 1966. She became an ensemble member at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin under the directorship of Hans Neuenfels in 1975. This engagement was followed by further years on stage with the Berliner Ensemble and Peter Palitzsch. Moreover, Hermann has appeared in over 100 cinema and TV productions: among them films directed by Werner Herzog, Vicco von Bülow, and Christoph Schlingensief. In recent years, she has made guest appearances at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Wiener Burgtheater, and many others.
