Teresa Zimmermann

Her personality and charisma as well as her musical insight and virtuosity mark out Teresa Zimmermann as one of the leading harpists of the young generation. She is the laureate of many renowned harp competitions: Tel Aviv, Genoa, Cardiff, and Munich. In 2008, she was awarded first prize at the Hochschulwettbewerb der Musikhochschulen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. In the same year, she completed her soloist studies with Maria Graf at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin with distinction. Zimmermann has performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Mariss Jansons, Franz Welser-Möst, Kent Nagano, Myung Whun Chung and Christoph von Dohnányi in the USA, Asia, and in almost all European countries. Zimmermann has recently been appointed as teacher for harp at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, where she will take up her post in December 2011.
