Gudrun Sidonie Otto

The soprano Gudrun Sidonie Otto received her most pertinent artistic insights from Mario Hoff, Dorothee Mields, Renate Biscub, Ingrid Figur, and Stefan Haselhoff. In 2004, she was awarded a stipend by the Komische Oper Berlin, followed by a fixed-term engagement as a soloist at the Landesbühnen Sachsen. She has made guest appearances at the opera houses of Hanover, Nuremberg, Munich, Halle, Würzburg, Schwerin, Picardie (France), Luxembourg, and others. In 2007, she was awarded the first prize at the international singing competition at Schloss Rheinsberg. Otto regularly performs at renowned festivals such as the Oregon-Bach Festival, the Musikfest Ghent, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival. She has sung under conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Helmuth Rilling, Thomas Hengelbrock, Enoch zu Guttenberg, Peter Gülke, Gabriel Fels, Luca Pianca, and Wolfgang Katschner, and can be heard on CD recordings, as well as in radio and television productions. Otto’s passion is the Lied repertoire. In 2009, she released a much acclaimed recording of Mendelssohn songs with Hänssler Profil. She works in close collaboration with ensembles such as Cantus Thuringia, the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, and Cantus Cölln. The Konzerthaus Vienna and stages in Berlin, Zurich, and Monte Carlo have seen Otto present her talent.
