Susanne Krumbiegel

Born in Leipzig, Susanne Krumbiegel grew up in a very musical family. After completing her secondary education at the Leipzig-Markkleeberg Music School, she went on to study music teaching and singing at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar.
Since 1989, she has given countless concerts and lieder recitals to great acclaim all over Germany. She has sung under such famous conductors as Thomas cantor Georg Christoph Biller, Kreuz Cantor Roderich Kreile, Helmuth Rilling, Frieder Bernius and Ton Koopmann and together with the organist Matthias Eisenberg, the actor Gert Westphal and pianist Peter Stamm, has performed programmes combining music and literature.
Susanne Krumbiegel has appeared at the Rheingau Music Festival, the Musiktage Hitzacker, Potsdam Music Festival, Leipzig Bach Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, Herbstliche Musiktagen Bad Urach, the Saxon-Bohemian Music Festival, Baroque Festival Würzburg and MDR Music Summer.
Her international engagements have taken her as far afield as Japan, Poland, Russia, The Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Italy and France. Her discography includes numerous CDs as well as recordings for the radio and television networks, MDR, Deutschland Radio, 3Sat, SWR, NDR and Arte.
