Ulrich Kaiser

Born 1973 in Dresden, Ulrich Kaiser discovered his enthusiasm for music in his early childhood and went on to receive a broad musical education, spending twelve years in the boarding schools of the Dresdner Kreuzchor and the Windsbacher Knabenchor. At the age of thirteen, he took up conducting; two years later, he became the assistant to the Kreuzchor’s cantor. In his three years at Windsbach (in central Franconia), Kaiser conducted a chapel choir as well as a children’s choir founded by him; he also worked with the Windsbacher Knabenchor and newly for-med a male vocal ensemble from its singers as well as a chamber orchestra. At the beginning of his studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin, together with other students, Kaiser founded the Amadeus-Kammerorchester and the Amadeus-Chor Berlin. He was appointed as the Neuer Knabenchor Hamburg’s new conductor in 2003. In addition to his work as a conductor, Ulrich Kaiser has been a tutor of singing and music theory at various conservatoires and universities for a number of years. Since 2008, he has been working as a church musician and has also been tutoring future leaders of children’s choirs.
