For over 300 years, these works of music have remained dormant and almost untouched in libraries: sacred vocal music by Andreas Hammerschmidt, performed by the Knabenchor Hannover (Hanover Boys Choir) in a spectacular debut recording. This disc opens up the possibility of rediscovering the works of a composer who was highly esteemed during his own lifetime: 15 motets and sacred concertos by Hammerschmidt were re-edited for this performance. The Knabenchor Hannover (Hanover Boys Choir) under the direction of J\u00f6rg Breiding is joined in its endeavour by the Himlische Cantorey and the Johann Rosenm\u00fcller Ensemble, both of whom are specialists for the historically informed interpretation and performance of Early Music.
