Trumpet concertos accompanied by an organ instead of an orchestra \u2013 this idea came to Helmut Fuchs, principal trumpet of the S\u00e4chsische Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Dresden Frauenkirche cantor Matthias Gr\u00fcnert some time ago. For their project, the two artists chose works from the 18th century, written by composers who are rather unknown today \u2013 unjustly, one might think, when listening to this recording. It is characterised by great virtuosity as well as a refreshing liveliness and joy of playing, reminiscent of the character of a jam session.
