His standpoint was: &#8220;Actually I am an enemy of all adaptations.&#8221; As a conductor, he was given the task of arranging Johann Strauss&#8217;s operetta &#8220;Das Spitzentuch der K\u00f6nigin&#8221; (&#8220;The Queen&#8217;s Lace Handkerchief&#8221;) for a Viennese performance. He polished up the instrumentation of the vocal numbers to suit the taste of the audience, incorporated lively melodies from other works, embedded well-known waltzes, and thus turned the Strauss arrangement into a genuine work of Korngold. A matter very dear to Stefan Klingele and the Leipzig Musikalische Kom\u00f6die is the cultivation of German operettas and musical plays, which, with joy and enthusiasm, is how it revives Korngold&#8217;s new version.
