Vokalakademie Berlin
Künstler: Christine Wolff, Britta Schwarz, Maria Graf
Komponisten: Luigi Cherubini

The Vokalakademie Berlin under Frank Markowitsch release their debut recording: Alessandro Scarlatti’s (1660-1725) seldom recorded Vespers for the Blessed Virgin consists of psalm settings and motets which had previously been scattered across many different European libraries. These five-voice compositions were re-united only in the 1840s. Jörg Jacobi published these works anew under the title Vespro della Beata Vergine in 2004. They provide sounding evidence of the Italian maestro’s impressive compositional prowess.
