Musik in Thüringen zur Beethovenzeit

In 2020, the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth was celebrated. However, numerous other composers were also of great importance at that time. The Reuss Chamber Orchestra presents a program with works by Luigi Cherubini, Franz Seraph Destouches and Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck, which gives an insight into the diversity of music in Beethoven’s time – in Thuringia and beyond. The world premiere recordings under the direction of Werner Ehrhardt show once again that many composers unknown today are by no means inferior to the great names of their time.
