Windsbach Boys Choir: |Sound Worlds
From the Renaissance to the Modern Era
Künstler: Windsbacher Knabenchor, Peter Härtling, Karl-Friedrich Beringer
Komponisten: Johann Sebastian Bach

From Early Music to the performance of a work written especially for the Windsbach Boys Choir: diverse sound-worlds meet on this recording with the Windsbach Boys Choir. The ensemble’s concert tour in July 2004 already impressively demonstrated the fruitfulness of the cooperation between the brass ensemble bach, blech & blues and the organist Klaus Singer. Renaissance and Baroque works by masters such as Josquin des Préz, Claudio Monteverdi, or Johann Sebastian Bach are placed in a dialogue with the avant-gardist tone-language of contemporary composers such as Steffen Schorn or Vytautas Miškinis. The CD contains a world premiere recording of the piece Demütig bitten by the New York-based composer John Hollenbeck. A cooperation with the Bayerischer Rundfunk make possible this excellent recording from the Gumbertuskirche Ansbach: despite tremendous contrasts between old and new or between loud and quiet, the singers and instrumentalists under the direction of Karl-Friedrich Beringer never let the dramatic tension break—from the CD’s first note to its last.
